MIAMI, July 23 (Our Florida Times) — Burger King is changing how it handles complaints and order quality, with two new customer-service moves designed around one of its best-known sandwiches.
The company said it is introducing a reworked restaurant manager position called the “Your Way Champion” and a “Whopper Guarantee” for Whoppers that do not meet a guest’s expectations. Burger King announced the changes from Miami, tying them to customer feedback gathered earlier in the year through phone calls and texts.
What is the “Your Way Champion”?
Burger King describes the Your Way Champion as a reimagined restaurant manager role focused on the guest experience. The company said the person in that role will act as a point person for customers, help oversee customization, and keep an eye on satisfaction. Burger King also said the role will come with a dedicated uniform.
The company did not say whether the position will appear in every restaurant or only in some locations.
What is the Whopper Guarantee?
The Whopper Guarantee is Burger King’s promise to remake a Whopper on the spot if it does not meet expectations. The company said the guest would also be able to get the next Whopper free through a QR-code redemption process.
Burger King did not spell out every rule for the guarantee, including whether it applies to all Whopper versions or what limits may come with the QR code.
Why is Burger King doing this now?
Burger King said the changes came after it opened phone lines and invited customers to share honest feedback. The company said that effort produced thousands of calls and text messages.
Tom Curtis, president of Burger King U.S. and Canada, has said in interviews that the company was listening closely to customers. In one interview with CNBC, he said Burger King had learned that people liked the Whopper but sometimes felt it was squished or not served on the bun they wanted. In another interview, he said the company had received a very large volume of customer communications and that he personally answered some of the calls.
How does the Whopper itself fit into the changes?
The service changes build on Burger King’s earlier updates to the Whopper. In February, the company said it had changed the sandwich with a more upscale glazed bun, creamier mayonnaise, and clamshell-style packaging instead of paper.
Burger King said those updates were the first major changes to the iconic sandwich in almost a decade and were available at more than 7,000 locations nationwide.
What Burger King is trying to fix
Taken together, the new manager role and the guarantee are meant to address two common customer concerns: whether an order is made the way it was requested, and whether the finished sandwich looks and tastes the way Burger King says it should.
Burger King said the goal is to reinforce its long-running “Have It Your Way” message by making that promise more visible in restaurants and more immediate when a customer is unhappy.
For now, the changes appear to be part of a broader chainwide effort rather than a Florida-only program. The company’s official announcement came from Florida, but it did not identify any specific local restaurants or franchise owners tied to the rollout.
