UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — Three Wendy’s employees in Union, South Carolina, were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item after police said a customer’s remade drive-thru order was taken from the trash and spat on before being served back.

The alleged incident happened at the Wendy’s on North Duncan Bypass, according to Union police and public-safety reporting. The reports differ on the date, placing it on either May 30 or May 31.

The employees named in the reporting are Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley. Audacy reported Sanders and Rice were arrested, while the restaurant disciplined a third employee.

The customer had complained about an earlier meal, and staff offered to remake it before the food was allegedly tampered with, according to the police account summarized in the reports. Reporting said the arrests were made separately between June 16 and June 22.
