CALHOUN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 20 (Infinite Headlines) — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said six people were arrested after a June 6 brawl at the 601 Sand Bar on the Congaree River in South Carolina, where authorities said more than 20 people were involved and at least three were injured.

Sheriff Thomas Summers said the disturbance happened during the annual Sparkleberry Duck Run. Video released by the sheriff’s office showed multiple fights and crowds gathering around the scene.

The sheriff said alcohol was a factor and deputies identified numerous cases of underage drinking. He said the injuries were severe and included swollen eyes and head injuries.

Summers also said, “This kind of behavior will not be tolerated.”

The sheriff’s office identified the people arrested as Brendan Bonds, Hunter Dalzell, Lucas Scott, Edward Scott, Austin Mizzell and Taylor Knudson. The office said they face various assault and breach-of-peace charges.

Authorities have not publicly said what started the fight. The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active and that additional arrests are expected as detectives continue reviewing video and public submissions.
