BOSTON, June 28 (Nationwide Times) — A duck boat carrying tourists overturned near the Charles River entrance in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Saturday, injuring at least six people and triggering a Massachusetts State Police investigation in a busy Boston-area sightseeing corridor.

Cambridge police said some of the injuries were minor and two were more serious. Boston EMS separately said 11 people were injured and one had serious injuries, and authorities did not immediately explain the difference in the counts.

Cambridge police spokesperson Bob Reardon said the boat had 32 people aboard when it turned on its side near a boat ramp on Museum Way near Education Street, close to the Lynch Family Skate Park. Officials said everyone aboard was accounted for and none of the passengers ended up in the water.

Reardon said the incident happened shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday. Massachusetts State Police said it would lead the investigation.

One account from Cambridge police said the boat was being towed when a tow rope broke. Another said the cause was not immediately clear.
