NEWARK, N.J., July 17 (Nationwide Times) — Panasonic is recalling more than 13,000 electric toaster ovens sold in the U.S. and Canada after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said a cord insulation problem could expose shoppers to shock and fire hazards.

The recall covers Panasonic model NB-G200 ovens, stainless steel units with the temperature knob on the bottom and the Panasonic name on the front, according to the CPSC. Panasonic Corporation of North America is the importer named in the notice.

The CPSC said about 11,480 units were sold in the U.S. and about 2,184 in Canada. The ovens were sold online at Amazon.com, Costco.com, Panasonic.com and other platforms nationwide from October 2024 through April 2026 for about $170 each.

Panasonic has received four reports of tripped circuit breakers or outlets and one report that the product stopped working, but no fires or injuries have been reported, the agency said. Consumers are being told to stop using the ovens and seek a refund.

In a member letter, Panasonic said Costco records show some members bought Item No. 2024930 between February 2026 and April 2026. The company said customers may return the product to Panasonic or to a Costco Warehouse Customer Service Window for a full refund.
